Privacy Policy

I care deeply about privacy and am committed to safeguarding yours in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is why my website collects as little data about you as possible. The following Privacy Policy describes what information is gathered, how it is used, and the rights you have over it.

By using this site, you consent to the processing of your personal data as described in this Privacy Policy.

Data Gathered About You

This website uses two types of data:

Information that you have explicitly provided, such as your name or your email address, in order to comment on my posts or to interact with me on this website.

Information automatically collected, such as IP address, the browser that you are using, or your activity on this site.

About Cookies

According to Merriam-Webster, a cookie is a “small flat or slightly raised cake”. On the internet, it also describes “a small file or part of a file stored on a World Wide Web user’s computer, created and subsequently read by a website server, and containing personal information (such as a user identification code, customized preferences, or a record of pages visited)”. This website may uses cookies in order to enhance your experience, for instance by saving your name and address for future comments in the comment section. They will only be used with your explicit consent – in other words, if you tick the box!

Only this website and you can access these cookies. As they are stored on your computer, you can delete them at any time in your browser’s settings. For more information about cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.

How Your Data Is Used

My website will only use your data to the extent necessary to function and for analytical purposes, as well as for me to interact with you through comments or notifications when you have given your express consent.

I do not monetize this website, so this data is not used to track your behaviors and habits, or to target you in any way.

Who Has Access to Your Data?

Me. That’s it. I do not share or sell any of your information to third parties, nor do I use any third-party plugins that process your data. Newsletters as well as analytics are carried out directly by the website host (PlanetHoster) on servers located in France.

That being said, I may disclose your personal data to third parties or public officials when I am legally obliged to do so.

How Your Data Is Secured

I do everything in my power to keep your personal data safe.  This includes using secure protocols for communication and data transfer (such as HTTPS and SSL protocols), as well as anonymizing where suitable.

Even though I try my best, I cannot guarantee the security of information. However, I promise to notify you as well as the appropriate authorities in the event of a data breach.

Your Rights Over Your Information

The GDPR gives you the right to access, rectify, or delete any data that has been gathered from or about you. I have created a page for that specific purpose. If you request erasure of your data from the server, it will be carried out automatically, without me or anyone being notified or intervening.

If you seek help over the processing of your data, you have a right to be assisted by a supervisory authority. This website being under French jurisdiction, the relevant authority is the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL).

Contact Information

If you have any questions or problems regarding the use of your personal data, feel free to contact me at contact@andreaheckler.org and I will happily assist you.
